Once

Once is a 2006 Irish musical film written and directed by John Carney. Set in Dublin, this naturalistic drama stars musicians Glen Hansard (of popular Irish rock band The Frames) and Markéta Irglová as struggling musicians. Collaborators prior to making the film, Hansard and Irglová composed and performed all of the original songs in the movie.

It received enthusiastic reviews[5][6] and awards such as the 2007 Independent Spirit Award for best foreign film. Hansard and Irglová's song "Falling Slowly" received a 2007 Academy Award for Best Original Song and the soundtrack as a whole also received a Grammy nomination.

Father Ted

Father Ted is a situation comedy produced by Hat Trick Productions for the UK's Channel 4 and written by Arthur Mathews and Graham Linehan. It aired over three series from 21 April 1995 until 1 May 1998, including a Christmas special, for a total of 25 episodes.

Set on the remote fictional Craggy Island off Ireland's west coast, the show starred Dermot Morgan as the titular Father Ted Crilly, alongside fellow priests Father Dougal McGuire (Ardal O'Hanlon) and Father Jack Hackett (Frank Kelly). Exiled on the island for various past incidents, the priests live together in the parochial house with their housekeeper Mrs. Doyle (Pauline McLynn).

GUIDE

This site plans to be typically Irish by being informal and, hopefully, very friendly =]

The idea of this site is to create a catalogue of content of Irish media that is:
-1) Free
-2) Of high quality
-3) Available to anyone in the world
-4) Permanent

These goals will make the site more content rich, varied and available than anything our national/regional broadcastors offer.

The working of this site is that I'll create 'Topics' or 'Blog-posts' with regards to certain content like movies or music and then, in the comments section of the 'Blog-posts', anyone can post a link to the content. I will try to create as many 'Topics' as I can but i will need help of everyone to request 'Topics' as much as they can so it will be easier for people to post their links.

Requests can be be made by:

EMAIL eiretainment@gmail.com

BLOGPOST Request Page

TWITTER @eiretainment

FACEBOOK

This is a service that is FREE AND OPEN to everyone and that people should try to remain patient when requesting shows as no one is dedicated entirely to the site.

If we all work together we can create a great site with an unrivalled collection of Irish media that will put our broadcasters to shame!

Although the site will hopefully be informal, there are some rules(BOO!!!):

RULES:

Spam WILL be deleted.
-However if someone is posting valid links to content I will gladly allow them to post their own site or a friend's if they have one.

Intending offense WILL NOT be tolerated.
-Using racism, hate speeches or just trying to offend someone will have their posts deleted and if continuing will be banned. While I believe in free speech, I also believe that people shouldn't have to endure abuse. I won't be extremely strict on this account as there are many 'offensive' terms used colloquially and don't mean to cause harm. In other words, only if one is intentionally trying to cause offense or harm .

CONTENT POSTING

As this site itself does not host content, users MUST upload their content to file hosting sites such as megaupload.com, rapidshare.com, etc. When the files is uploaded they can link the content in the open topics or send me a request.

-MOVIES LINKS:
When posting a link to a movie please using the following guidelines:

-1) Mention the title of the film(helps avoid errors)
-2) Give details on the films source (i.e. DVDrip, BDrip, TVrip etc.)
-3) Comment in as much detail as you can on the quality(Dimensions, Bitrate, Runlength, etc.)

This will leave a comment similar to this example:

"Link: www.(filehostersite).com/&dthe.wind.that.shakes.barley.avi
Title: The Wind That Shakes The Barley
Source: DVDrip
Detail: 640*480, 625kbps, 2:45:45"

-TV SHOWS:

Same procedure as movies except leave individual links for each episode. If the details are all the same, a footnote at the end of all the links is sufficent instead of writing out each one's detail repeatidly.

-MUSIC:

Singles:

For song singles, just upload the song to any files hosting site and leave a comment in the topic. Similar rules to MOVIES:

-1) Post full title name
-2)

-TV SPECIALS:

U2 - The Joshua Tree

The Joshua Tree is the fifth studio album by rock band U2. It was released on 9 March 1987 on Island Records. In contrast to the ambient experimentation of their 1984 release The Unforgettable Fire, U2 aimed for a harder-hitting sound on The Joshua Tree within the limitation of strict song structures. The album is influenced by American and Irish roots music and depicts the band's love-hate relationship with the United States, with socially- and politically-conscious lyrics embellished with spiritual imagery.

Dirty Money: The Story of the Criminal Assets Bureau

Dirty Money: The Story of the Criminal Assets Bureau was an Irish crime program broadcast on TV3 at 10pm on Monday nights. The show began on February 25 and ended on April 3, 2008. The series comprised six one-hour episodes examining the role of the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB). The program was presented and narrated by Sunday World journalist Paul Williams.

Williams explores what led to the establishment of the multi-agency Bureau and interviews the people who played a big part in the formation of the bureau.

Reeling In The Years

Reeling in the Years is a historical documentary series broadcast in Ireland by RTÉ. Each episode looks back at the news and events of a particular year, from 1962 to 2009. The programme uses news archive footage, along with subtitles as the means of narration, to recount notable Irish and international events of the time. Music from the particular year is also played over the footage, with occasional scenes of live performances or music videos, generally by an Irish artist.

The theme tune for the series comes from Steely Dan's 1972 hit "Reelin' In the Years". The series was voted "most popular home-produced TV programme ever" in a poll of Ireland's Top 100 television programmes conducted by the RTÉ Guide in 2008.

TV Recorded Rips are superior to the DVD Rips as the DVD's come with much less footage due to expensive copyright issues.

Dustin - 20 Years A Pluckin'

He's hung out with presidents, movie stars, super models and Twink. He claims to have single handedly turned RTE into what it is today but is refusing to take any blame. He is Dustin The Turkey and he's been on our screens for 20 years now.

Not every 12 year old can claim to be on TV for 20 years !!! But Dustins life has been pretty unbelievable and here for the first time are all his amazing moments on a trip down memory lane.

Featuring - an hour long documentary with contributions from Bob Geldof, Gay Byrne, Ray D'Arcy, Nicky Byrne, Louis Walsh, Bosco, Zig 'n' Zag, Twink, Amanda Byram, Marty Whelan and a few more characters.
